In honor of one of my faaaavorite wedding blogs, a $10,000 wedding, I’ve decided to start numbering my posts.

I think it’ll be more fun in the long run to see how many posts I’ve made – since we have so much tiiime!

We’re meeting with two potention day of coordinators on Sunday. I’m sooooo excited! My brother and SIL’s wedding was a mess and could have been completely different with a non-family member running the show. For this reason, no amount of money could keep me from hiring on. Hopefully Anna and Anne of Graceful Weddings can handle the job!

Did you have a DOC? Were you glad or was it a waste of money?

It’s Monday. As much as I hate to admit it, I totally have a case of the Mondays.

HOWEVER! I do have some good news on the wedding front.

So I’ve been working to get the hotel block taken care of quickly because I know that my family is like me and will want to plan things super early in advance. Our block is going to be at the Key Bridge Marriott - which I’m pretty stoked for because it’s in a great location – and cheap! (considering it’s VA/DC! haha)

The first guy I was working with doesn’t work there anymore, so now I’ve got a new guy. This guy tried to charge me more than the other guy for the 2-room suite – I called him on it. He misread what I had written and thought I meant the old guy was giving me the 2-room suite for the discounted price of one, when I actually meant that he was giving it to me for the discounted priced of TWO! OH WELL!

Now I’m getting our girly 2-room suite for $109 – YAY!

I’m also seriously contemplating cutting my hair. I just don’t think I’m a long hair type of girl. My hair also grows insanely quick, so I think I’d still be okay if I freaked now and wanted it longer. What do you think?

Ruby, CupcakeDog, in fact managed to sneak an entire vanilla with strawberry frosting covered in pink sugar sprinkles cupcake off the table while Mr. CupcakeBride got up for a drink and swallowed it in roughly 7.5 seconds. This her after a tiring day with her grandma and grandma to be (also after breaking an heirloom piece of china, eating potpurri made of future MIL’s wedding bouquet and terrorizing her uncle Frankie the doxie – it was a long day!)

Sleepy Ruby

This is my first post.

This is my attempt to create my “writing style” that I’ll continue for the next one year, two months and three days (thanks Facebook for keeping the official countdown!)

People tell me I’m funny. I think I’m funny. Hopefully this blog will be funny!

Introduction:

I’m a 24 year-old marketing and graphic design professional. Sounds grown-up and important, huh?! It pays the bills and most times I enjoy it. I’m goofy, love wearing brightly colored-clothing, love post-it notes and baking cupcakes. Not really anything else, just cupcakes! Muffins are okay because they look like cupcakes.

Mr. CupcakeBride is 25 (an OLDER man!) and works in higher education. He loves sports. ALL sports. He loves browsing espn.com while WATCHING ESPN on tv. He also likes playing sports Xbox games. And he likes eating the cupcakes I make.

Here we are! This was last summer in NYC, we suck at taking recent pictures, haha.

We’re subtle hipsters. We like most things hipster but aren’t actually hipsters (you have to be initiated into that I’m pretty sure and Mr. CupcakeBride doesn’t like his pants that tight). We love dive bars and vintage-inspired things.

We have a dog Ruby. She’s an attention-whore who also loves three-way kisses (and no, she’s never experienced Spring Break Cancun, although I think she’d LOVE it as she also has an affinity for cheap beer).

Aaaand here’s Ruby (aka Reuban Steuban Tuesday Sangich – don’t ask).

Now that, that’s over with, we move on to all things wedding. (YAY!)

We have quite a bit done. I’m going to save all that for future posts to last me through and not bore you or turn this first one into a novel.

Things we’ve decided on so far:

Ceremony location.
Reception location.
Photographer.
Baker(y). – (I THINK!)
Hotel block.
Florist.

Stay tuned!
